How will the world look like after COVID-19?

How will the world look like after COVID-19?

This thought sends chills across my spine. Last time the world has seen such a pandemic was Spanish Flu. But it's impact was not well known due to various reasons-- like World War-1 and lack of accurate documentation.

This time it is a different scenario. With advanced tools and technology we will better able to understand the impacts of pandemic. But to see the results, one has to wait a year or more. So, with my experiences and knowledge, I wish to present my views.

1.GLOBALISATION - SKEPTICISM
Globalisation will no more be seen as an elixir to development and optimum use of worlds limited resources. More skeptics will wash your minds with this propaganda in coming days.

2.RIGHT WING RESURGENCE
This phemenon is rising across developed countries -- COVID will only add fore to it. Do not be surprised to hear Presdient Trump blaming the chinese immigrants for COVID spread.

3.SHIFTING GEO-POLITICS
Countries which will effectively tackle this pandemic will become more powerful and increase hegemony over global affairs. China and other Asian countries like South Korea will utilise this situation to further shift the geo-economy towards Asia.

4.CLIMATE CHANGE- INCREASED AWARENESS
Mutation in a viral gene may be a random event, but humanity can no more deny the possible rise of such pathogens to global warming. Countries will shed their differences to take climate change as the necessary thing to do.

5.INCREASED POVERTY
People will loose their jobs -- this time the impact will be more severe, similar to Great depression(1920–21). This triggers poverty and countries especially developing ones, will find it challenging to deal with hunger.

6.CHANGED BUSINESS MODELS
Businesses will be the first to adapt to adversaries. They will be adequately supported with stimulus packages so they can reverse the damage to economies. Companies will further shift from traditional office models to virtual spaces.

7.INCREASED VACCINATION COVER
No skeptics can deny -- VACCINATION. The trauma and loss created by SARS-CoV-2 will motivate people to take vaccines and dispel the last clinging populations advocating the efficacy of such. This will be a good change.

8.IMPROVED HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS
The biggest learning from this crisis is lack of robust healthcare systems across the world while tackling highly contagious diseases. Governments will prioritise healthcare -- may be through special infrastructure creation EG: On lines of Contigency services like fire departments.

World will never be the same. Let us hope this crisis will transform the world into a better place by incorporating the lessons learnt throughout the war against Corona.

EVEN THIS SHALL PASS!
